Description:

Ableton Live is a unique and versatile software platform for producing, mixing and performing music of all styles. Geared towards musicians, producers, laptop artists and DJs alike, this intensive interactive workshop is designed to explore the higher level and deeper programming functions of Live, with the goal of applying these skills in a wide variety of contexts and musical genres.

Who this course is for:

For those who already have experience with Ableton Live or those who have taken the Introduction to Ableton Live course via the Rich Media Institute. Participants will take from this session an advanced comprehension of Ableton Live and the ability to use its cutting edge functionality to enhance their live performance, digital DJing, studio production, sound design and more.

Course Outline

Audio Clips: creative warping and looping using envelope automation, launch modes, dummy clips and follow actions;

MIDI Clips: step sequencing, live recording and punch-out looping;

The Mixer: MIDI and audio routing techniques, creative bussing, side-chaining, implementing sends and returns;

Arrange View: recording and engineering your performance or arrangement with advanced automation, track freezing, flattening, rendering, and advanced editing functionality;

Using Live's included Instruments and Effects: utilizing instrument and effect racks with macro controls, multiple MIDI-mappings, and implementing 3rd-Party VSTs and VST-Is.
